Cape Fear United Way: Serving Brunswick, New Hanover and Pender Counties
In addition to initiating and collaborating on important community building projects, the United Way funds 60 local health and human-service programs designed to assist people in our community who need help. Local volunteer opportunites are available.

Support Our Students
SOS is a community-based after-school initiative that provides support and guidance to young people by involving them in constructive activities to keep them focused and out of trouble. SOS links young people with caring adults in their community.
SOS' goals include: reducing juvenile crime in the local community, reducing the number of unsupervised students after school, improving academic performance, meeting the student's physical, mental, and emotional needs and recruiting community volunteers.
